Aikmans Bar Bistro in St Andrews is a leading restaurant offering a wide range of bistro classic meals and new and interesting food. Our range of good food is complimented by our range of real ales and wines to compliment the good food served in our bar bistro restaurant. Aikman's has been renowned for the quality of its food as well as for the widest and probably most interesting Drinks list in Town for many years now. Situated in the warehouse of one of the oldest businesses in St. Andrews, we look to maintain the high standard of food and drink which allowed the original Aikman & Terras business to trade for over 144 years. At present we our restaurant features a Daytime Menu of selected dishes ranging from our famous Soups - all made on the premises and drawn from a list of more than 50 recipes - through our main course dishes including Raised Venison, Steak and Ale Pies, smoked and roll mop herring Our bar bistros Evening Menu is derived from our own interest in dishes from across the world and in the past have included such delights as Malayan Satays, Swordfish, Dim Sum from the Far East, Imam Bayildi from Turkey and favourites such as Jalapenos and Fajitas from Mexico. These dishes are complemented by dishes from Scotland too and we have always sought to bring the best of Scottish cooking to a discerning and interested audience including Salmon, Venison and Haggis! We also fall victim to the Scots (in)famous love of all things sweet and our Sweet Trolley reveals this in all its glory! The Bistro is based on the European ideal that food and drink are best savoured together rather than separately and our wine and spirits list reflects this with a wine list of more than 60 wines from as far a field as Chile, Australia, New Zealand, the United States as well as from France and Spain.
